WHAT?!?! Rain on Ibiza? Exploring beautiful bays, visiting beach clubs, and sunbathing are a lot less fun when it rains. So what are you supposed to do then? First off: don’t panic! There’s plenty to do when it rains on Ibiza. From cozy wine tastings to exciting escape rooms and from wellness to culture. I’m giving you 14 concrete tips so your vacation doesn’t literally go down the drain.
Tips for rainy weather in Ibiza
Ibiza isn’t really built for a lot of rain. When it rains, the water comes down hard, and huge puddles form on the streets immediately. The drainage system just can’t handle all that water. I can almost swim through the street! It’s easier said than done not to get a tiny bit depressed about this. Your vacation is literally falling into the water.
But… don’t worry: rain in Ibiza is often very localized and short but intense. Is it raining in the north? Then, the sun might be shining in the south. And those downpours usually only last a few hours. After that, it often clears up completely!

Indoor activities in Ibiza
Most of what you do in Ibiza is obviously outdoors. Thanks to the rain, you unfortunately have to go inside. But even then, there’s still plenty of fun stuff to do. Like…
1. Party all night, sleep all day
Let me start with a no-brainer. Find a good club and stay up late, really late. So late that it is actually early again. Grab a nice warm shower and sleep. Hopefully, it will have stopped raining when you wake up. Find out here which club on Ibiza is the best choice for you.
When I buy tickets online for parties, I often do it through Ibiza Spotlight. You can actually cancel your tickets there and receive a refund. Here, you’ll find Ibiza Spotlight’s club calendar.
2. Catch a movie in Ibiza
The best movie options are, of course, the open-air cinemas, like Cinema Paradiso. Still, fortunately, there are also a few indoor ones. on Ibiza town, you can go to MultiCines Ibiza, in San Antoni, there’s Cine Regio and in Santa Eulalia to Teatro Espaňa. Make sure you choose a movie with subtitles or one that is spoken in English.
3. Escape room in Ibiza
Super popular in the Netherlands, so Ibiza can’t fall behind. Try an escape room with your friends or family when it rains. It takes about an hour unless you are very quick and intelligent – which you obviously are. You pay €65 ($70) for two people and €90 ($97) for three to five people. Booking for larger groups is also possible. . Book your escape room here. Just make sure to book in the right language, otherwise you might never escape. 😉
4. Go bowling in Ibiza
On Ibiza you can enjoy indoor bowling – it’s been ages since I’ve done that. You can go to Friends Kitchen bowling alley in Sant Josep de Talaia. Perfect for a fun afternoon with friends when it’s pouring outside.
5. Shopping in covered places
Okay, Ibiza doesn’t have a big shopping mall, but there are some nice covered spots. Mercat Nou in Ibiza Town is a small, covered food market where you can sample local treats. And don’t forget Sluiz – a cool and big concept store on the road to Santa Gertrudis (here). I can easily wander around there for an hour.

Culinary to-dos during rain showers in Ibiza
Is it raining? Then it’s time for comfort food. Ibiza has enough nice restaurants and wine tastings to keep you busy for a few hours. And honestly, with a good glass of wine, you’ll forget about the rain.
6. Extended dining in Ibiza
Ibiza has many restaurants with excellent food. Take your time for an extended lunch at places like Amante or Aiyanna, or opt for something simple and local, such as Bar Costa. During rainy weather, many restaurants also offer indoor seating – making a reservation is recommended, though. Check out my blog withtop tips for restaurants on the island.
7. Wine tasting in Ibiza
There are several wineries in Ibiza, for example, Can Rich (which also makes olive oil), Ibizkus, and Ojo de Ibiza. They all offer wine tastings with tours. That’ll keep you off the streets for about 1.5 to 2 hours, and with a nice wine, you might forget about the rain. I’ve done the wine tastings at Ibizkus, Can Rich, and Ojo de Ibiza. Learn which one I like best.

8. Join a food tour
Hop between the showers from delicatessen to café and on to a restaurant. With Ibiza Food Tours, you’ll discover no less than five local eateries in Ibiza town. A bite, a drink… you’ll forget about the rain! Book directly with Ibiza Food Tours or through Viator.

Wellness and relaxation during the rain
If it’s raining anyway, you might as well pamper yourself. Ibiza has enough spas and wellness centers to turn a rainy day into a relaxation day.
9. Spa visit in Ibiza
On such a rainy day, it’s time to treat yourself. What better place to do that than at a spa? The three best known are Hacienda Na Xamena, Agroturismo Atzaro, and Aguas de Ibiza.
I try Atzaro, but unfortunately, there is no available spot for a massage – call ahead, people! But what a beautiful location it is. The garden, the restaurant, the swimming pools… Bring a well-filled wallet. 😉
High on my bucket list is a visit to the Cascadas at Posidonia Spa (Hacienda Na Xamena). It is mainly intended for better weather: the cascadas are outdoor swimming pools with different temperatures and currents that flow into each other like waterfalls.

Culture and sights in the rain
Okay, maybe you didn’t come to Ibiza for the museums, but they’re there! And on a rainy day, it’s pretty nice to enjoy some culture. Plus: you stay nice and dry.
10. Visit a museum
Ibiza has a few museums. Most are pretty small, but certainly good for an hour of entertainment when it rains on Ibiza. In Ibiza town, for example, is the Museu Puget, where you can see work by the Ibizan artist Narcís Puget Viñas and his father in a 19th-century house. The Museo Arquelógico Ibiza y Formenterahas locations in both Ibiza town and Puig des Molins.

11. Visit the cave Cova de Can Marçà
The Cova de Can Marçà is located in San Miguel. It’s an underground cave, and of course, it is dry. You have to go down the long stairs first, which is not much fun when it rains, but when the sun does shine… That view!
A tour is included in the entrance fee of the Cova de Can Marçà. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to discover the cave by yourself. And while the guide has clearly already given the talk 1,000 times, it is still captivating. You will learn about stalagmites and stalactites and how smugglers used the cave in the past. The website is a disaster, but fortunately, you can purchase a ticket on the spot or through Get Your Guide.

Practical to-dos when it rains in Ibiza
Let’s be practical: rain in Ibiza is often very localized. So if it’s raining where you are, try another part of the island. With a bit of luck, you’ll find the sun there!
12. Roadtrip over Ibiza (regen ontwijken!
I’ve been enjoying the comparison options from DiscoverCars and Rentalcars.com when looking for a car. Jump in your rental car and hit the road, hoping to find a ray of sunshine. And yes, it may not be tropical warm or sunny even, but a half-hour drive away, it might be dry!
If you are not so lucky, then driving around without a specific destination is fun to do anyway. You might accidentally discover a local restaurant, a nice street, or a stunning view.
13. Diving on Ibiza
Underwater you will not notice the rain! I get a little panicked when it comes to diving, but maybe it’s something you’d like to try. You can do an introductory dive on Ibiza. Book your dive via GetYourGuide.
14. Plan activities in your hotel
Staying at a hotel? Good chance there’s plenty to do there: spa, fitness, yoga, workshops, or entertainment. So you don’t have to leave your hotel, and you can have a great time right there.
After rain comes sunshine…
Rain in Ibiza is never fun, but with these tips, you really don’t have to let it ruin your vacation. There’s enough to do indoors, and who knows, you might discover a new favorite restaurant or finally get that massage you’ve been wanting for so long. And cliché but true: after rain comes sunshine!
