A yoga retreat in Bali is very popular. Not surprisingly: Bali is a beautiful island with a rich cultural tradition and spiritual atmosphere. But the offer of yoga retreats is enormous, so which one should you choose?
Hundreds of blogs have already been written about Ubud in Bali. Is this blog necessary? I think so. Not to dampen your enthusiasm about Ubud but to paint a slightly more realistic picture.
Uluwatu is the southernmost part of Bali. It’s more of a region than a specific place. Renting a scooter is an absolute must if you want to immerse yourself in Uluwatu’s beauty and fun: beaches, Single Fin, a beautiful temple, and many coffee spots.
If you only have limited time, which of the three Gili’s should you go to? Will you choose the party island of Trawangan, the almost uninhabited Meno, or something in between, Gili Air? I visited Trawangan and Air, and ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got a winner.
I love learning about other cultures, but there are some things I would rather not have known. For example, in Bali, I sometimes watch with horror how animals are treated. Monkeys, bats, birds, and other animals are poorly treated as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
